In Kosovo, 22 policemen have been investigated for helping MIT (Turkish Intelligence Service) to abduct 6 members of the Service Movement. There is a chief constable
among the suspects.
BOLD – 6 Turkish citizens working in Kosovo for years, were abducted by MIT in March last year. The investigation was launched after 6 service movement supporters, 5 teachers, and one doctor, were abducted and handed over to the MIT with the help of police officers from the Kosovo Police department.
TWO ILLEGAL ACTS WERE COMMITTED
A total of 22 police officers, including a chief constable and superiors, are accused of abduction and handing over six persons to a foreign intelligence organization without
the decision of deportation by the judiciary. The investigation by the Kosovo Police Inspectorate includes evidence that prove the 22 policemen on the file are guilty.
TAKEN BY PRIVATE PLANE
Cihan Özkan, Kahraman Demirez, Hasan Hüseyin Günakan, Mustafa Erdem, Prof. Dr. Osman Karakaya and Yusuf Karabina were brought to Turkey by a special aircraft from
Kosovo by MIT. All 6 of them were arrested by the court they were issued.
CAUSED A GOVERNMENT CRISIS
Following the abduction scandal, there was a government crisis in Kosovo. Parliament decided to conduct a survey on the subject. Kosovo President Hashim Thaci said he
had no information about the arrest of six people. Thaci also expressed that some names were previously requested by Turkey but the abductees were not on the list. He then
dismissed the chief of intelligence and the interior minister and ordered an investigation.
Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj also argued that he was not informed about the incident.
